Review

As a big fan of both movies, I'll watch pretty much anything but I in particular have a love of 80's movies, and of art that may be seen as a little bit kooky or different, I was very eager to have a look at this book.

It most definitely didn't disappoint.  Some of the art here is absolutely stunning.  For the first time in a very long time, I can honestly say that there wasn't a single one in this book that I didn't like.  Some of the mediums used and/or the pictures in this book are inspired.

They have taken some very well known movies such as 'Ghostbusters', 'Princess Bride' and many others, and made some great art using the characters or the themes that those movies are most famous for.  I would sit here and describe them to you but that would be doing the art a massive disservice because part of the enjoyment of this book and this collection is seeing the pictures and finding all the little movie references that the artists have thrown in.

As someone who loves movies of all kinds of movies and who is a bit of an art lover, although I veer more on the kooky, slightly off kilter side not the classical side, this book is an absolute goldmine of stunning imagery and really does a brilliant job of showing off just how talented the artists for Gallery 1988 really are.  Definitely one to pick up and have in your collection and definitely a book that will be gotten off the shelf time and time again.
