Review

As the owner of a much loved cat named Colin, I was eager to read this book as it looked absolutely beautiful and sounded like a great look at a cat's life but told from the point of view of the cat.

I wasn't disappointed.  In fact, I was absolutely blown away by the sheer beauty of the story itself and by the characters.  I found myself absolutely hanging on to every word on the page and didn't want to put the book down at all.

The flow of the story itself had a positively lyrical flow to it and that helped the personality of the cat, Dulcy, absolutely shine through.  The adventures, if you want to call them that, are told fantastically.  You really believe that the cat is there telling you all about her life.

Emotionally, this book is a positive roller coaster of emotions.  Each page can bring tears to your eyes of both sadness and happiness.  There's so much love told in the story and also a hell of a lot of respect too.

I'd be completely remiss if I didn't mention the beautiful illustrations by Judy J. King.  They're beautiful in their simplicity but they really capture the grace and poise as well as the general aloof personality that is normally associated with a cat.

All in all, this is an absolutely beautiful and heartfelt book that positively hooked me from the start of the book right up to heartbreaking ending that had me in tears.

Highly recommended for anyone who has a pet that they love or even to anyone who doesn't.  This beautifully written and illustrated book is well worth the read.
